Edmonton to Calgary to Great Falls

TuesdayYour California and Oregon Scenic Adventure begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Edmonton.  Travel south via Red Deer, Calgary to Lethbridge meeting your travel companions enroute. Passengers boarding the coach in Lethbridge will be dropped off in Fort Macleod on the return trip. Stop at the duty-free store before entering the USA for overnight at the Holiday Inn in Great Falls, Montana. Join an informal WELCOME MEET and GREET upon arrival.

Great Falls to Jackpot

Wednesday.  Sit back and watch the scenery pass by, rolling through the impressive canyons of Montana and the high plains of Idaho.  See the rugged Snake River Canyon at Twin Falls, enter the state of Nevada and end your day in Jackpot.  When Idaho outlawed all forms of casino gambling in 1954, two industrious business-owners moved their slot machines just inside the Nevada border to form what is now known as the town of Jackpot.  Overnight at Cactus Pete’s Resort Casino.

Jackpot to Reno

Thursday. Journey across the vast Nevada desert through Winnemucca, named for a 19th century Northern Paiute Chief, and onward to Reno, “The Biggest Little City in the World”.  Tonight, your stay is at the centrally located Circus Circus Hotel Casino, connected by a skywalk to the Eldorado and Silver Legacy Resort Casinos. These three casino resort hotels make up “The Row”.

Reno to Napa Area

Friday.   Leave the city behind as you travel south to the Napa Valley area for your overnight at the Fairfield Inn.

Napa Area to San Francisco

(2 nights) Saturday.  Travel through the idyllic Napa Valley during harvest season, taking in the vibrant colorful fall foliage along the 17‑mile-long valley, birthplace of the California wine industry and where many world-class wines are created.  Enjoy a self-guided winery tour at STERLING VINEYARDS where an aerial tram transports you to the winery for tastings and panoramic views of the valley. Enjoy time for lunch and browsing the shops in Calistoga before crossing the legendary Golden Gate Bridge into the “City by the Bay”.  Arrive in San Francisco for a two-night stay at the Riu Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel.  Your hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39 and the iconic cable car lines.

San Francisco

Sunday.  This morning, a GUIDED TOUR will introduce you to one of the most exciting and best-loved cities in the world.  Your sightseeing excursion includes a ride on a world-famous CABLE CAR to Union Square and a panoramic view of San Francisco and the bay area from the top of Twin Peaks. Arrive PIER 39 in time for lunch, browsing time and a one-hour San Francisco BAY CRUISE.  The rest of the day is yours to enjoy in this fascinating city.  Return to your hotel for overnight.

San Francisco to Eureka

Monday. Today, your journey takes you north into California’s majestic redwood country. Be awe-struck by the towering giants as your motorcoach winds through the breathtaking AVENUE OF THE GIANTS, a scenic route that meanders through ancient old-growth forests. Along the way, you will stop for an informative visit at the HUMBOLDT REDWOODS STATE PARK Visitor Center.  Continue to Eureka, situated in the heart of the redwood coast, for overnight at the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn.

Eureka to North Bend

Tuesday.  Enjoy a short driving tour of the charming Victorian architecture and colourful murals.  As you continue north, pass through the towering redwood forests with some of the world’s tallest trees.  Travel through scenic redwood groves, where the forest canopy creates a cathedral-like atmosphere.   Continue your travels to North Bend, home to lush wetlands and where you’ll often spot sea birds and seals. Overnight at the Best Western Holiday Hotel.

North Bend to Newport

(2 nights) Wednesday.  Enjoy the sights of the rugged Oregon coast as you journey north on the spectacular PACIFIC COAST SCENIC BYWAY.  Travel through the unusual landscape of the OREGON DUNES NATIONAL RECREATION AREA. This extraordinary area contains huge hills and deep valleys of sand, several lakes and numerous “ghost” forests created by the timeless action of the wind moving the massive sand dunes. Enjoy a leisurely lunch in OLD TOWN FLORENCE with time to browse the quaint shops and galleries.  Continue to Newport, home of Oregon’s largest fishing fleet, for a two-night stay at your oceanfront hotel, the Hallmark Resort.

Thursday. This charming coastal town offers something for everyone, with its stunning natural beauty and laid-back vibe. The day is at your leisure to explore the historic bayfront’s vibrant galleries and shops, enjoy local seafood cuisine or stop by a local brewery to sample their unique craft beers.

Newport to The Dallas

Friday.  Take in the scenery that transitions from the misty coastal beauty of the Pacific Northwest to the dry, rolling landscapes of the Columbia River Gorge. Your destination is The Dalles for overnight at the Fairfield Inn.

The Dallas to Cranbrook

Saturday.   Your journey today guides you northward through the croplands, grassy plains, and rolling hills of Washington and northern Idaho to the British Columbia border. Continue your travels to Cranbrook for overnight at the St. Eugene Resort & Casino. This evening, share tour memories with your fellow travellers at a HOSTED FAREWELL DINNER at your hotel.
