Edmonton to Calgary to Revelstoke

Saturday. Your Hot Springs Holiday begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Edmonton.  Travel south via Red Deer to Calgary, meeting additional travel companions enroute.  Sit back and enjoy the incredible scenery of the Canadian Rockies.  Cross the border into British Columbia and continue to Revelstoke for the night.  Join your fellow travellers for a GET ACQUAINTED WELCOME DINNER.

 Revelstoke to Nelson

(3 nights) Continue south to Shelter Bay for a short FERRY ride to Galena Bay and onward to NAKUSP HOT SPRINGS.  Found in the foothills of the Selkirk Mountains in the natural surroundings of the Kuskanax Valley, Nakusp Hot Springs is one of BC’s hidden gems!  There will be time to explore the area, have lunch and soak in the pools.  Carry on to NEW DENVER where you will stop at the NIKKEI INTERNMENT MEMORIAL CENTRE National Historic Site, which tells the stories of the thousands of Japanese Canadians who were forcibly relocated during World War II.  Follow the picturesque route along Slocan Lake to the mountain town of Nelson for a three-night stay at BW Baker Street Inn.

Nelson

Monday. Admire the tranquil reflections on Kootenay Lake on your way to AINSWORTH HOT SPRINGS for a morning soak in the curative mineral waters of a natural cave and pool.  Your next stop will be KASLO, a historic silver-mining town.  There will be time to tour the tree-lined streets and vintage buildings of the village and visit the S.S. MOYIE National Historic Site.  The oldest known intact passenger steamship of its type in the world, it was the last CPR sternwheeler to serve Kootenay Lake.  Return to Nelson for overnight.

Nelson

Tuesday.This morning, board STREETCAR #23 for a ride along the lake on a fully restored electric tramway.  Then, sample one of Nelson’s many outstanding coffee shops and restaurants with time to shop on Baker Street. After lunch, discover a town with historic storybook charm and stunning geography as you join our GUIDED TOUR.

Nelson to Fairmont

(2 nights) Wednesday. Depart Nelson, following the north shore of Kootenay Lake on one of the most scenic routes in Canada to Balfour.  Take the longest free FERRY RIDE in North America to Kootenay Bay, then motor along the panoramic Kootenay Valley.  Drive by the GLASS HOUSE, built with 500,000 square-shaped embalming fluid bottles, weighing 250 tons.  Pass through the idyllic beauty of the fertile Creston Valley, where the main industry is fruit growing.  Head north through Cranbrook and continue to Fairmont Hot Springs Resort for two nights.

Thursday.  Spend a FREE DAY taking in the resort amenities and FAIRMONT POOLS on your own.  Leave your worries behind as you unwind and experience the therapeutic warmth of the odorless mineral spring waters.  Share tour memories tonight with new-found friends at a HOSTED FAREWELL DINNER.

Fairmont to Calgary to Edmonton

Friday.  Today you will be homeward bound!  Travel through the renowned Banff National Park, stopping for lunch enroute.  Leaving the mountains behind, arrive mid-afternoon in Calgary and then conclude your journey in Edmonton.
