    Edmonton to Calgary to Great Falls

    Monday.  Your Southwestern Holiday begins as you are welcomed aboard your deluxe coach in Edmonton.  Travel south via Red Deer to Calgary, meeting additional travel companions enroute.  Stop at the duty-free store before entering the USA and arrive at the Holiday Inn in Great Falls, Montana for overnight.  Join an informal WELCOME MEET and GREET upon arrival.

    Great Falls to Ogden

    Tuesday.  Sit back and soak in the scenery as you journey through the rugged mountains of Montana and the high plains of Idaho.  Cross into Utah and follow the Wasatch Mountains into the Great Salt Lake Basin for overnight.

    Ogden to Las Vegas

     Wednesday.  Travel south through Utah, along the scenic Virgin River Canyon, across a corner of Arizona and into Nevada.  You are on your way to Las Vegas, where glitter and glamour is everywhere and neon lights flash day and night. Enjoy a DRIVING TOUR of the strip on the way to your hotel, the Golden Nugget, located on Fremont Street amid all the action.  Tonight, take in the one-of-a-kind FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE at your doorstep! This busy pedestrian-only corridor features shops, restaurants, street performers and an overhead zip-line.  Watch the Viva Vision Light Show as super-sized animations and high-resolution special effects are displayed on a digital screen canopy 90 feet overhead.

    Las Vegas to Lake Havasu City

    Thursday. Leave the bright lights of Las Vegas behind and proceed to the resort town of Lake Havasu City. Enter Arizona and visit historic OATMAN on Route 66.  This old gold mining town is a unique adventure, with tame burros roaming the streets and characters right out of the old west.  Continue on to view the famous LONDON BRIDGE, rebuilt stone by stone on the banks of a man-made lake in the Arizona Desert.

    Lake Havasu City to Tucson

    (3 nights) Friday.  Continue to Tucson, Arizona’s second largest city, and visit the PRESIDIO SAN AUGUSTIN DEL TUCSON – birthplace of the city.  Stay for three nights at the Holiday Inn Express Tucson Mall.

    Tucson

    Saturday.  A GUIDED TOUR of this centuries-old city is a great way to start an exciting day.  Be entertained with a visit to OLD TUCSON STUDIOS, the setting for many western movies and TV shows.  Then experience the world-famous ARIZONA SONORA DESERT MUSEUM, a unique zoo and museum featuring the plants and animals native to the Sonora Desert.

    Tucson

    Sunday.  Today tour the “Old West”.  First stop is TOMBSTONE, one of the West’s most remarkable collections of frontier mining-town buildings. Take in a GUNFIGHT AT THE O.K. CORRAL and take time to explore this old-time setting.   Continue to BISBEE where you will see turn-of-the-century Victorian structures full of old-west history and copper mining lore.  Visit the first cemetery to be called “BOOT HILL” on your way back to Tucson for your last night.

    Tucson to Phoenix Area

    (2 nights) Monday.  This morning a short drive brings you to Phoenix, a desert paradise nestled beneath a mountain playground.  Upon arrival meet your local guide and depart on a GUIDED TOUR of the “Valley of the Sun” to acquaint you with the many attractions the area has to offer.  The name accurately reflects the fact that the sun shines 300 days of the year.  Your tour will include the Old Scottsdale area and a visit to one of the last citrus farms near the city.  Arrive at your hotel, the Holiday Inn Express Tempe, conveniently located near the Arizona Mills MallDuring your stay enjoy an outdoor pool, whirlpool and fitness center.

    Tuesday.  Enjoy a FREE DAY to take advantage of the amenities of your hotel, a round of golf, or browse in some of the unique area shops.

    Phoenix Area to Grand Canyon

    Wednesday.  Travel to the magnificent Grand Canyon National Park for overnight.  Highlights enroute include a visit to the ruins of MONTEZUMA CASTLE NATIONAL MONUMENT, the artists’ village of SEDONA and a glorious drive through OAK CREEK CANYON, with its shaded banks of Sycamore and Cottonwood trees.

    Grand Canyon to Monument Valley

    ThursdayA thrilling visit to the IMAX THEATRE to view a Grand Canyon movie is a perfect start to your day.  You will be awestruck as you meander along the south rim of the world’s greatest natural wonder – neither pictures nor words can fully describe the GRAND CANYON!  Then it’s on through the Painted Desert to Kayenta for an INCLUDED DINNER and overnight at the Hampton Inn near Monument Valley.

    Monument Valley to Page

    Friday.  Join us this morning as you experience MONUMENT VALLEY NAVAJO TRIBAL PARK with a local guide.  After lunch, take a scenic drive through Navajo nation to the famous FOUR CORNERS MONUMENT, where Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico meet.  Continue to LAKE POWELL, one of the world’s largest man-made lakes.  Arrive in Page and drive a short distance into GLEN CANYON NATIONAL RECREATION AREA to your hotel.

    Page to Bryce Canyon

    Saturday.  Start your day with an interesting stop at GLEN CANYON DAM before you head to Utah.  After a lunch stop in Bryce Canyon Village, enjoy a visit to BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK, known for its crimson-coloured hoodoos.  Travel past the expansive Bryce Amphitheatre, a hoodoo-filled depression lying below the Rim Trail.  These crimson-coloured spires of rock catch the sun’s rays, giving them a hue all their own.  After visiting spectacular overlooks in the park, return to Bryce Canyon Village for overnight at Ruby’s Inn.

    Bryce Canyon to Zion Canyon to Ogden

    Sunday.  This morning visit ZION NATIONAL PARK, where massive stone formations resemble temples and cathedrals and the soaring canyon walls are ablaze with ever-changing colours. Continue through the state of Utah, passing through Salt Lake City before arriving in Ogden for overnight.

    Ogden to Great Falls

    MondayJourney north through Idaho to the state of Montana and arrive in Great Falls for your last evening at the Holiday Inn.  Join your fellow travellers for a HOSTED FAREWELL DINNER.
