I’ve heard it said if you enjoy what you do you will never work a day in your life!
Growing up a Maritimer with a passion to travel, my initial goal was to work in the airline industry. However, sometimes I feel the Universe has other plans when ‘my real people journey’ began in the food service industry before eventually graduating from Travel & Tourism in 1980 and certified (CTC) one year later. Along the way, in addition to managing a travel agency for 33 years fulfilling my dreams to explore the world, I had the privilege to grow my own family of three.
After one of ‘life’s curveballs, I checked a notch off my bucket list to drive across Canada, which brought me to Alberta. This opened a door of opportunity to experience another aspect of travel when I met Bob & Pat Nagel and was hired as tour planner in 2014. With a focus on the best of Canadian tourism experiences, it has been a pleasure for me since 2016 to represent Nagel Tours at two of Canada’s tourism marketplaces, where planners and vendors meet to exchange ideas and information.
Of the many wonderous places travelled throughout Canada, USA, the Caribbean, Europe, N Africa – my favourite place is still home (Maritimes) Basically anywhere I can experience ‘down-home East Coast hospitality’ – see the ocean, smell the salt air, hear the rivalry of impromptu music & dance, and taste fresh seafood at the drop of a hat! Some of my favourite things are family, friends & food – preferably tasting versus the cooking! I’ve learned to take one day at a time and grab hold of opportunities when they arise. Thoughts become things – choose the ‘good ones’
